Raw Pineapple
Our variety of pineapple is the Mauritius variety, which is commercially cultivated in the Vazhakulam region. The Vazhakulam pineapple is also known as the "Kannara". It is a Queen Cultivar (Mauritius) pineapple that is grown in the Vazhakulam area of Kerala, India . This variety of pineapple is grown in some parts of Kerala and Meghalaya. The fruits are medium in size and available in two colors. One is red-skinned and the other is deep yellow. In comparison to the red variety, the yellow fruit is oblong, fibrous and has a medium sweetness. Mauritius is solely a table variety. It is a late-season variety that ripens through the year.
